Lisa Bernard is a Television Journalist and an audio-visual storyteller.
Lisa’s work has been recognized with 3 Emmy Awards and 5 additional Emmy nominations. She has worked as a Freelance National Network Correspondent for Al Jazeera America and BloombergTV. She has been an on-air contributor on MSNBC and CNN. She was a reporter/fill-in anchor/host with NBC Bay Area from 1999-2009. Prior to that she was a reporter at tv stations in Chicago and Boston.
Lisa has done long-form pieces on Human Trafficking. Last year she went into California’s San Quentin Prison to report on a college education program for the inmates. She was granted unprecedented access to IBM’s Watson Supercomputer in its beta test phase to reveal how it is helping to treat cancer. Lisa reported from Honeywell’s airplane laboratory, storm chasing from Seattle to North Dakota, to test a new weather radar system. And she flew a small plane on camera for a feature story to confront a fear of flying.
Lisa worked on the Batkid Begins documentary which chronicles the day the “Make a Wish Foundation” granted the wish of a 5-year old cancer survivor to “be Batkid,” for a day. San Francisco was transformed into Gotham City and the event became an international phenomenon with more than 1.84 Billion people following each stage of the day unfold on Instagram and Twitter. The film was bought by Warner Brothers and New Line Cinemas. Julia Roberts is set to be involved in the feature adaptation of the documentary.
